Position Details
The Department of Environmental Studies within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level beginning in August 2026.
This position will have primary teaching responsibilities in introductory-level Environmental Studies courses for majors and general education Environmental Studies courses for non-majors (e.g., Environmental Science, Biodiversity Conservation, Urban Sustainability, Introduction to Geosciences). Area of expertise for this position is open.
The department is interested in attracting candidates with expertise in 1) the natural and social sciences as they relate to environmental issues and 2) environmental pedagogy. Opportunities for research involving undergraduates and current members of the faculty are possible using research space and equipment that may be made available by on-campus collaborators.
Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral degrees in Environmental Education, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field is preferred. Prior teaching experience with undergraduates is required and a personal commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and advising is essential.
