Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Human Resources Representative at our Columbus, IN location. The Human Resources Representative is responsible for assisting human resources with administration of payroll, benefits, recruitment, and training.  The ideal candidate will have previous human resources and payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Prepare payroll weekly for hourly workforce.  Review and edit all timecards daily for accuracy.
  • Conduct recruiting for hourly positions, including advertising, evaluating applications received, conducting interviews, scheduling pre-employment exams, and ensuring background checks are performed
  • Responsible for employee onboarding, orientation, and training coordination
  • Benefits – administration and enrollment
  • Prepare and submit various reports for statutory compliance
  • Communicates and answers questions of current knowledge of the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Collaborates in the development of processes for continuous improvement and training programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prefer 2 years of experience in human resources or related field in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience with time keeping (ADP Time and Attendance / Kronos)
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented with great organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR generalist experience in the steel industry or a manufacturing industry
