Summary Of The Role
Jotun South East Asia & Pacific (SEAP) Regional Office is looking for Regional Project Engineer who is responsible to support, execute and follow-up on new plant and facilities upgrading projects in the region. This can be done by applying good practices of Engineering and Project Management skills to ensure activities are completed within project timeline, good quality, cost efficient and safe manner in accordance to Jotun’s Engineering Standard and HSEQ Policy.This position will report to the Regional Engineering Manager, and will be based in Glenmarie Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Engineering tasks and projects in the region by setting standards, training, coordinating, audit to ensure that the Jotun Group achieves its objectives.
- Ensure that assigned engineering project costs and quality in the region follow Jotun standards and business principles.
- Implement best practices and standardized engineering solutions in the region.
- Use sound engineering principles to provide efficient technical solutions and development of systems.
- Involve in projects from concept and detail engineering solutions by designing, implementing, testing, commissioning, and handing over to ensure projects’ objectives, requirements, and standards are met. Participate and coordinate in supplier and equipment selection including factory acceptance test.
- Ensure further development and provide optimal utilization of Jotun's process control systems in the region for effective and efficient project management and execution.
- Provide technical support to Jotun’s factories.
- Provide support in the procurement process, including the development of tender documents and bid evaluation.
- Active interfaces and coordination with other engineering disciplines within Regional and Group Technical to anchor basic and detail design and resolve engineering related matters. Active engagement with external stakeholders for efficient and optimal technical solutions.
Position Specific Description:
- Regional lead for design and review of mechanical discipline covering mechanical Civil, Structure and Architecture (CSA) and process. Support SEAP projects and sites within discipline. Part of the team responsible for regional engineering and handle projects minimum 5 million USD and above.
- Regional lead for design and review of Fire Protection system as per The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and /or legal requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection, Engineering or relevant fields.
- 5+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering projects with minimum value of 5 million USD. Preferred proficiency in static and rotating mechanical discipline.
- Experience and proficiency in fire protection design per The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will be advantageous.
- Proven track record in project management.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within the region as required.
