The Division of General Surgery, is currently recruiting for Family Physician(s) to provide oncological care within our Graham & Gale Wright Breast Health Centre. This evolving role is expected to provide collaborative care and support for surgical oncology patients within an interdisciplinary team. Commitment is expected to 3 one-half days per week in the Breast Health Center. Remuneration is Fee for Service with no overhead required.
The successful physician will be a contributing member of the Division, working with a strong, supportive and collegial group committed to providing high quality and comprehensive care in a community hospital setting. Knowledge and experience with oncological areas such as breast cancer and melanoma as well as familiarity with breast cancer screening and surveillance and a willingness to learn and expand the scope of practice to cover a wider range of patients with cancers in collaboration with surgical oncology would be an asset. Experience with minor surgical procedures, wound care and surgical assisting is preferred.
Qualifications/Experience:
- License to practice independently in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO);
- Certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada - CCFP
- Currently or eligible to hold privileges with Oak Valley Health
- Experience with oncology, including breast cancer and melanoma, breast cancer screening and surveillance preferred
- Experience with surgical procedures, wound care and surgical assisting preferred
