Full Time
End-to-end payroll processing of multi-state payrolls on a weekly basis. This role requires in-depth payroll processing experience, a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to confidentiality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple locations
- Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit deductions
- Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Review, validate and import time & attendance system information
- Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and time reporting
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll reports and documentation
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Update employee payroll records by reviewing and entering changes
- Respond to employee/management inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters
- Process employee transfers between multiple payroll companies
- Understand computed wages and taxes to ensure the accuracy of earnings
- Complete special projects and or other assigned tasks on an as needed basis
- Ability to prioritize workload efficiently and meet deadlines
- Monitor employee leave situations to accurately pay employees
- Process manual payments
- Maintain strict confidentiality
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a staffing agency environment
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Experience processing payroll for multiple states and locations
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or similar platforms)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.)
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- ADP Vantage experience preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
