Job Title: Director of Coach Development 


Department:
Coaching
Location: DuPage County, IL
Reports To: Elizabeth Weinberg, Director of Coaching and Operations
Classification: Full-Time, (~40 hours/week) | ~10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule: 5–6 Days/Week | Varies by Season | Mix of Field & Admin Time


Position Overview:
The Director of Coach Development is responsible for leading the training, communication, and support of our coaching staff while managing key program operations. This role ensures our coaches deliver a consistent, high-quality Soccer Shots experience, while also overseeing critical administrative and logistical functions that keep our programs running smoothly. In addition to leadership and oversight, this role includes direct coaching responsibilities to model best practices, support team coverage, and maintain program excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching & On-Field Leadership
  • Actively coach Soccer Shots sessions across age groups and sites to ensure program quality.
  • Serve as a model coach by demonstrating best practices in classroom management, child engagement, and curriculum delivery.
  • Provide field support by observing and mentoring coaches in real time.
  • Step in to coach sessions as needed to cover staff absences or ensure program consistency.
  • Coach Development & Training
  • Lead the evaluation and feedback process for all coaches.Design and deliver training sessions, including mid-season meetings.
  • Support the professional growth and ongoing development of coaching staff.
  • Coach Communication & Engagement
  • Maintain regular, clear communication with coaches regarding schedules, expectations, and updates.Act as the primary contact for coach support and guidance.
  • Operations & Program Support
  • Manage and track equipment inventory and distribution.
  • Oversee weather-related communication and cancellations for public sites.
  • Coordinate Net Promoter Score (NPS) communications to ensure strong family engagement and feedback.
  • Administrative & Marketing Functions
  • Facilitate in-office onboarding for new staff members.
  • Manage website content, including weekly newsletters, coach bios, Connect Team, and landing pages.
  • Support program communication with families to ensure clarity and satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in coaching, training, or staff development is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (websites, newsletters, communication platforms).
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children (teaching, coaching, childcare).
  • Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.Available for evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors; able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Customer Satisfaction: Team maintains NPS score of 78+ per season.
  • Responsiveness: Replies to emails/messages within 24 hours (urgent issues immediately).
  • Session Preparedness: Accurate attendance logs; knows children's names by Week 3.
  • CIT Oversight: Coaches-in-Training are properly supported and developed.
  • Professional Conduct: Models Soccer Shots Core Values consistently in the field and with team members


Compensation & Benefits

Performance Reviews

  • Initial performance review at 90 days.

Compensation: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
