What we need 
The Senior Manager, Engineering Quality is responsible for overseeing and driving quality within the engineering function of our automation and robotics operations. This role ensures that design, development, and engineering processes consistently meet high standards of reliability, compliance, and manufacturability. Additionally, the Engineering Quality team will lead RCCA activities from non-conformities that occur on site, or with our productsThe Senior Manager will partner with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, program management, and supplier quality teams to establish robust quality systems, apply engineering best practices, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 

What You'Ll Do

  • Lead and develop the engineering quality team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional growth opportunities. 
  • Establish and maintain engineering quality standards, processes, and procedures aligned with ISO 9001, industry regulations, and company objectives. 
  • Ensure design and development processes integrate strong quality and reliability principles from concept through production. 
  • Review engineering designs for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with quality standards. 
  • Implement and manage DFMEA, risk assessments, and other preventive quality tools to identify and mitigate potential issues early. 
  • Develop and track engineering quality metrics and dashboards to monitor performance and drive accountability. 
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and supplier quality teams to validate new designs and ensure robust production processes. 
  • Partner with suppliers to confirm materials and components meet design and reliability requirements; participate in audits and corrective actions as needed. 
  • Drive root cause, corrective, and preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA) for design and field quality issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams. 
  • Work with Service, Warranty, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to resolve system non-conformities and improve product reliability. 
  • Lead initiatives to identify and close process gaps, reduce inefficiencies, and strengthen quality within engineering workflows. 
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and reliability engineering tools to reduce errors, defects, and rework across the product lifecycle. 
  • Track and report key quality performance indicators, including design error rates, corrective actions, and reliability metrics. 
  • Provide executive-level reporting on engineering quality risks, trends, and improvement initiatives. 
  • Champion a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all functions. 

What You’Ll Need

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering quality experience, including 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong knowledge of engineering quality principles, design validation, and reliability analysis. 
  • Hands-on experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DOE, CAPA, and root cause analysis tools. 
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards for quality management. 
  • Experience in robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems strongly preferred. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence engineering and operations stakeholders. 
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills. 
  • CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent professional certification preferred. 

Our Environment

  • Travel is required up to 50% of the time. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client, other customer locations or our main office in Wilmington, MA.  
  • The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.    
  • The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.    
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.    
  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.    
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.    
  • Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.     
  • Approximately 80% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).    
  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.   
  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.    
  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
