NSW Service Technician

Having experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, it is time for the right person to join us at this exciting phase of our organisation’s growth and further enhance our spare parts operations across QLD.

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician, preferably with a background in the Bus, or Heavy Vehicle Industry but would not exclude anyone with a strong mechanical background. The core purpose of the Service Technician role is to consistently delight and satisfy our customers through the timely servicing and a high level to attention to detail, to ensure time off the road is minimal.

This is a hands-on role, working closely with our Workshop team in Prestons while reporting directly to the NSW Service Manager.

Key Accountabilities are but not limited to –

• Mechanical servicing and repairs including engine, hydraulics, auto electrical and braking systems.
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Test drive vehicles after service/repairs in a safe and courteous manner.
• Record accurate hours spent on Repair Orders.
• Always present a professional dress standard and image.
• Support, lead and promote sustainability practices in the workplace in conjunction with management direction.
• Sound time management skills.
• Sound written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to liaise with customers in a courteous manner.
• Sound knowledge of O.H & S. Maintain and comply with all Workers Health and Safety directives and standards
• By the General Manager or a Director of the company.
• Support, lead and promote sustainability practices in the workplace in conjunction with management direction.
• Show a dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance.
• Comply with and follow all VDI policies and procedures when it comes to our required documentation

Skills and experience –

• The successful candidate must be able to travel as and when required across the whole of New South Wales to support the after-sales and warranty department.
• Electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle experience will be highly regarded however not necessary as full training will be provided
• Have the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
• Be a quick thinker and good have good problem-solving skills
• Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, client, and suppliers
• Be trade qualified with post trade experience – Preferably heavy Diesel mechanical trade
• MR Licence is essential
