As part of Moderna’s continued international growth, we have established a world-class MESH Center in Warsaw, Poland — a strategic hub that supports key shared services functions across Finance, Pharmacovigilance, and HR. Within this center, the Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of Moderna’s VAT reporting processes.

Reporting to the Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will focus on the preparation and accuracy of indirect tax services, supporting multiple European markets and select international jurisdictions. You will collaborate closely with Moderna’s International Tax team to ensure compliance with local tax authorities while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the MESH Center.

This hybrid position (approximately 70% office-based) offers the opportunity to operate in a high-performing, collaborative environment that values curiosity, excellence, and a bold approach to solving complex financial challenges.

Here'S What You’Ll Do:

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Ensuring VAT reporting compliance for a group of European and selected international markets, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT and indirect tax returns (including sales listings, domestic and purchase listings, Intrastat, SAF-T), leveraging indirect tax return preparation technology.
  • Performing detailed transactional checks and reconciliations to ensure alignment with local indirect tax requirements.
  • Guiding internal stakeholders to ensure transactions are posted accurately and in compliance with tax rules.
  • Supporting the monitoring and maintenance of internal controls over indirect tax processes, including VAT reconciliations.

Your Responsibilities Will Also Include:

  • Collaborating closely with the International Indirect Tax and MESH leadership teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams — including Commercial, Finance, and HR — to understand key business processes and provide timely, high-quality tax advice.
  • Providing regular updates to key stakeholders on indirect tax developments and regulatory changes affecting Moderna’s operations.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on tax-related projects and initiatives within the MESH Center.
  • Building strong internal relationships across Moderna’s international network to support best-in-class financial compliance and process optimization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline required. In progress of tax accreditation a plus
  • 4+ years of related experience in indirect taxes is required; public accounting experience, pharma/biotech company preferred
  • Strong tax technical skills including expertise in VAT
  • Experience with financial systems including SAP, Blackline and Microsoft Suite of products
