The Accounting & Separate Account Reporting Associate Director position is an opportunity to become an integral part of the Group 1001 accounting team. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities for Group 1001 companies. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the AVP, Finance/Accounting collaborating with internal and external partners including actuarial and investment teams. You will play a critical part of the Separate Account reporting and support strategic decision making, ensure compliance, and track performance on various account balances. How You'Ll Contribute:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and regulatory filings in a multi-company environment.
- Support regulatory filings and assist with ad-hoc reporting
- Collaborate across departments, including but not limited to the investments, actuarial and tax departments, and the Company’s TPA’s to facilitate the monthly financial statement close process and year-end financial statements preparation.
- Prepare and review complex general ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including statements of operations and balance sheets, for submission to the NAIC.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, procedures, and internal control documentation
- Work with external auditors to determine appropriate accounting and reporting
What We'Re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and reporting
- CPA preferred
- Previous experience with statutory accounting, and GAAP accounting in the life insurance industry is required
- Experience with Workday and Office Connect a plus.
- Experience with statutory reporting software (Wings/SOVOS) a plus
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Professional work ethic, integrity, and team-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ownership, and accountability
Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
