Position Description:
As a key contributor to execution of biomarker and diagnostic contracts and payments by closely working with the China Biomarker and Diagnostic Operations (BDO) leads, the Biomarker Contract Management (Sr.) Specialist/Associate Manager (Contractor) is accountable for implementation and execution of the end-to-end contracting and payment strategies and processes supporting both the clinical and non-clinical, early and late phase biomarker programs in the Oncology TA in China and APAC region, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of contract and payment management, and experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the contract lifecycle for oncology biomarker projects, from initiation to closure
- Align with the Global team to enable seamless operations of contract and payment processes for China and APAC studies
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to BDO, procurement, finance, HCC (Healthcare Compliance), legal, privacy, quality, data security and project management to ensure contractual obligations are met
- Draft, review and validate contractual terms including payment milestones and invoices
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to contracts and payments
- Negotiate with external biomarker partners on contract terms and payment requirements as needed
- Coordinate contract signing and stamping, as well as archiving process
- Monitor and process payments related to biomarker contracts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Navigate various internal online systems for new vendors, contracts and purchase orders (PO) submissions for approval process, as well as to follow necessary compliance management systems for contract evaluations
- Support advance payment application process as necessary
- Coordinate foreign currency registration process for contracts and associated payments with ex-China partners as necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of contracts, amendments, and payment records
- Support audit processes and prepare necessary documentation related to contracts and payments
- Provide regular updates and reporting on contract and payment statuses
Qualifications & Skills:
- Life Science degree (Bachelor Minimum) in scientific, medical or healthcare area, Business Administration, or related field required
- Proven experience (5+ years) in contract management, finance, or payment processing within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry
- Relevant work experience in a clinical development, diagnostics and/or Pharmaceutical/biotech R&D preferred
- Strong understanding of biomarker development and related contractual frameworks
- Project management experience is preferred
- Rigorous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal language skills in both Chinese and English (CET-6)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with clinical trials and biomarker research
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to healthcare contracts
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM) is a plus
