Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with clients, data scientists, software engineers, and analysts to gather requirements and architect scalable, robust data solutions.
- Drive solution design and technical delivery end-to-end, managing project timelines, risks, and quality to ensure successful outcomes.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, managing expectations, providing regular updates, and addressing technical concerns promptly.
- Lead presales and solutioning activities, including responding to RFPs, preparing technical proposals, and facilitating client workshops to define requirements and solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain data lakes, data pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT workflows using modern technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud platforms.
- Optimize data workflows and pipelines to maximize performance, scalability, and data quality.
- Establish and enforce data engineering best practices, ensuring data governance, integrity, and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay current with emerging data engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies, driving innovation and adoption of best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define standards, tools, and processes to improve productivity and solution delivery.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and promote professional growth within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 9 years in senior or leadership roles overseeing complex data infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in solution design, delivery management, and client-facing roles within data engineering or analytics domains.
- Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java, and proficiency with SQL.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead presales engagements including RFP responses, technical proposals, and client workshops.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and motivating high-performing technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders including senior leadership.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow), and data governance frameworks is a plus.
- Experience driving innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices.
