Job Summary
  • The Vice President of Supply Chain Management is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, demand planning, and supplier relationships. This role partners with the business to align supply chain strategies with corporate goals, drive operational efficiency, and support sustainable growth. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Spend Management, the position delivers enterprise-wide impact by aligning supply chain initiatives with the Company’s cost and financial targets.

  • Support risk management and business continuity across all commodity areas.
  • Provide training and maintain communication with departments on procurement policies.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with suppliers, contractors, internal leaders, and government agencies.
  • Lead strategic supplier discussions across procurement, shipping, invoicing, and related areas.
  • Represent and advocate for Southwest in industry forums and coalitions.
  • Uphold ethics and integrity in all supplier interactions.
  • Develop senior leadership and ensure succession planning for key roles.
  • Lead by example, fostering Company spirit and unity.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, fuel, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of financial and cost-saving strategies across various spend areas.
  • Knowledge of compliance, ethics, and rules around procurement and fuel operations.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, market trends, and global supply chain risks.
  • Skilled in sourcing, managing suppliers, and contract negotiations.
  • Skilled in building and developing strong, accountable, and innovative teams.
  • Skilled in building and fostering internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to align supply chain strategy to Company goals and financial targets.
  • Ability to identify risks, handle disruptions, and implement backup plans.
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams or functions through subordinate Leaders
  • Advanced level Business Acumen in functional area with understanding of broad business impacts
  • Expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
