How will you make an impact in this role?

Senior Manager- Data Governance & Management:

As part of the Financial Reporting Quality Assurance Organization (FRQA) within Corporate Controllership, this role is responsible for overall data governance and management related compliance with various policies for Finance. Finance Data Governance (FDG) team is leading the effort of defining the future roadmap for data governance within Finance.

This FDG Senior Manager is focused on ensuring that Finance data governance and management processes are complying with the data and risk policies and appropriate controls and documentation exists to stand a regulatory or internal examination or audit. She/He will be responsible for remediating any gaps or issues either self-identified or noted during an audit or examination.

The FDG Senior Manager is a collaborator, a well-organized, action-oriented individual with exceptional leadership and time management skills, confident in presenting, facilitating, and building a network of strong relationships across our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic thought partnership with the 1st (Enterprise Data Office), 2nd (Enterprise Data Risk Management), 3rd (Internal Audit) line of defenses, Technology, and Regulatory Reporting teams to ensure compliance with data risk policies.
  • Support or lead various audits, reviews, or examinations performed on Finance Data Governance processes.
  • Support or lead remediation of findings or gaps identified in the data governance and management processes.
  • Assess impact of new policies or policy refreshes – Enterprise Data Management Operational Policy and Enterprise Data Risk Policy - on the processes and guide the team in change management or establishing new processes.
  • Making sure appropriate documentation exists for data governance and management processes.   
  • Establish Finance Data Governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities.
  • Implementing requirements of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy within various critical Finance systems/processes.
  • Support implementation of process improvement initiatives to make Finance Data Governance more effective and efficient.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to finance data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the finance systems.
  • Advancing the Data Governance Strategy for the Finance Data Management initiative. This initiative involves utilizing new technologies to create one standardized data set that can be utilized for broader Finance thus minimizing multiple point solutions, data duplication and reconciliation over time among other benefits.

Minimum Qualification:

  • 7+ years of professional experience specializing in Data Governance and Management within Banking/ Financial Services
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
  • Experience in leading audits and reviews for data governance processes, preparing responses to audit questions and liaising with multiple stakeholders (preferably for tier 1 or tier 2 banks)
  • Proven people leadership experience and ability to attract, engage and retain high caliber global talent.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex concepts and processes clearly to stakeholders in Finance, Business, and Technology.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in finance/accounting.
  • Knowledge of banking financials and Regulatory reporting (FRY-9C, FRY 14A, FR2052a, FORM 10K/Q)  
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
  • Experience in policy implementation and risk mitigation.
  • Support implementation of Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) / Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) on financial processes. 
  • Proven record of process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology and delivery concepts or other project management methodologies.
  • Strong relationship management and conflict resolution skills with a proven track of positively collaborating, influencing, and extensively coordinating with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to be strategic, flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively manage in a matrix organization.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
