Compliance Officer – Financial Crime and Regulatory
Do you have a strong drive for excellence in tackling financial crime, navigating regulatory complexities and shaping compliance standards in a fast-evolving financial landscape? We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of financial crime investigations, regulatory advisory and policy development, contributing directly to the integrity as well as security of our operations.
Whether you are performing financial crime investigations, guiding stakeholders through complex cases, working on policy development or delivering impactful compliance training, your work will play a pivotal role in maintaining trust as well as ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. With a focus on AML regulations, in particular emerging from sectors like blockchain and cryptocurrencies, this position offers a unique opportunity to combine expertise in Compliance with innovative financial technologies.
You Will Have The Following Responsibilities
- Carrying out financial crime investigations and preparing money laundering reports (SARs, MROS)
- Provide expert advice and assessment on regulatory topics with a focus on AML regulations as well as due diligence obligations (CDB20, AMLA, AMLO, VQF, SPG)
- Support relationship managers and stakeholders by providing insights into complex compliance cases
- Draft and review internal policies, instructions and guidelines to ensure adherence to industry standards
- Participate in high-impact international regulatory projects
- Review and advise on marketing materials at point of sale (FinSA, MiCAR)
- Prepare and deliver tailored Compliance training sessions to empower teams
What You Bring Along
- Degree in law, economics, finance or similar
- 3+ years of experience in Compliance, preferably as an in-house Compliance or Legal Officer within a Swiss financial institution or an audit/consulting firm
- In-depth knowledge of AML regulations (CDB20, AMLA, AMLO, VQF, SPG) and familiarity with regulatory financial market frameworks like FinSA, MiCAR and MiFID II
- Expertise in sanctions compliance including investigation handling, SARs and transaction monitoring closure
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Interest in blockchain, cryptocurrencies and the FinTech/RegTech landscape is a plus
- Fluent in English, German and any other languages highly desirable
- Exceptional communication skills to navigate challenging situations effectively
