We’re looking for a dynamic Lead Portfolio Planning Manager to join our Property Team and play a pivotal role in enabling strategic, informed, and timely decision-making across the business. This is a high-impact leadership position, responsible for bringing a holistic view to our Property Plan and ensuring our leadership team is equipped with the insights and governance needed to drive success.

- Drive PMO Maturity & Best Practice
- Lead and evolve the Property PMO team, partnering with Portfolio Managers and Leads across Tesco to embed consistent ways of working and share best practices that enhance delivery and alignment.
- Grow Capability & Talent
- Develop the skills and capabilities of the PMO team through structured talent and development cycles, fostering a culture of continuous growth, high performance, and career progression.
Standardise Processes & Tools
Oversee the development of consistent processes and tools that mature the PMO function—supporting prioritisation based on scope, size, dependencies, compliance, capacity, and absorbability. Collaborate with property teams to build effective tools for capacity and benefits management.
Portfolio Oversight & Insight
Act as the central point of contact for the Property Plan, maintaining a transparent and accurate view of the portfolio. Use this insight to support reporting, steer prioritisation, and ensure joined-up delivery across teams.
- Governance Ownership
- Own and continuously improve the governance framework for Property, ensuring robust decision-making and alignment with strategic goals.
- Business Planning Integration
- Serve as the key link between the Business Planning function and Property, supporting all aspects of Annual Planning—including plan details, priority briefs, and scorecard reporting.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Lead the process for setting and tracking performance against in-year outcomes, providing bi-periodic updates to the Property Leadership Team to inform progress and decision-making.
- Strategic Alignment
- Work closely with the Head of Property Strategy and Planning to align in-year plans with long-term strategic ambitions, ensuring clear links to broader business deliverables and timelines.
Risk Management & Assurance
Take a holistic view of risk across Group and Property levels, ensuring alignment with the Property Plan and projects. Engage with risk, controls, and audit teams to maintain accurate registers and support group audits.
