Job Summary:
As the Firmwide Legal Entity Strategy Executive Director within the Bank Controller, Accounting Policy and Reporting organization, you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance the governance and control of Firmwide legal entities. You will collaborate closely with senior management across various business lines and corporate functions to achieve the Firm’s legal entity simplification objectives and evaluate proposals for new operating legal entities. Your responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on legal entity structures for reorganizations, business transformations, and acquisitions, as well as contributing to the Firm’s Resolution Plan Legal Entity Rationalization Narrative and other regulatory reports. Additionally, you will head the Legal Entity Strategy Group Forum, working with senior representatives to advance governance and control initiatives, and you will be tasked with developing, refining, and enforcing policies, standards, and procedures to strengthen Firmwide legal entity governance and control.
Firmwide Legal Entity Strategy Team Overview:
The firm’s legal entity strategy is shaped by drivers such as Resolution & Recovery, regulatory changes, current events (e.g., Brexit), and strategic acquisitions. The Legal Entity Strategy team leads legal entity rationalization, reduces operational complexity and risk, supports new investments and business expansions, and is responsible for driving Firmwide legal entity governance and control strategic priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and help execute a broad range of Firmwide legal entity governance and control-related strategic priorities, including those that may be dynamic or new to the organization.
- Collaborate with senior management across lines of business, Legal, Tax, Resolution & Recovery, and other Corporate functions to deliver on the Firm’s legal entity simplification commitments and evaluate proposals for new operating legal entities.
- Provide strategic advice on legal entity structure for reorganizations, business changes, and acquisitions.
- Facilitate preparation of the Firm’s Resolution Plan Legal Entity Rationalization Narrative and other regulatory reporting.
- Chair the Legal Entity Strategy Group Forum, engaging senior representatives from all LOBs and Corporate functions to advance governance and control priorities.
- Develop, enhance, and implement policies, standards, and procedures to support Firmwide legal entity governance and control.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills:
- Proven strategic thinker with a track record of driving Firmwide governance and control priorities, delivering results, and getting things done.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively convey complex topics in clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to analyze large data sets to identify trends and common themes
- Experience managing multiple deliverables with urgency and decisiveness.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Highly proficient in MS Word and Excel; Workiva proficiency.
- Experience preparing senior management presentations in PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills:
- Broad knowledge of financial services businesses and products.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
