We're seeking a dynamic Cold Calling & Lead Generation Specialist to join our client's expanding financial services team. In this pivotal role, you'll be the first point of contact for potential clients, connecting small and medium-sized businesses with valuable financial planning and employee benefit solutions. This remote position offers excellent growth potential, flexible scheduling, and attractive commission opportunities (5-10% on successful deals). You'll work independently while being supported by proven systems and processes, making this an ideal opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships and generating qualified leads that drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify high-potential small to medium-sized companies across targeted Ontario markets, focusing on businesses that would benefit from financial planning and employee benefit services
- Execute strategic cold calling campaigns to connect with business owners, HR managers, and key decision makers
- Master the art of navigating past gatekeepers using proven techniques to reach the right contacts
- Conduct compelling initial conversations that generate interest and book qualified meetings for employee benefits discussions and financial planning consultations
- Perform targeted company research (2-3 minutes per prospect) to identify key contacts and personalize your approach
- Maintain detailed activity records and prospect information using Google Sheets and other tracking systems
- Achieve consistent call volume targets of 10-20 calls per hour while maintaining quality conversations
- Focus on appointment setting and lead qualification rather than closing sales during initial outreach
- Collaborate with the financial advisor to optimize calling strategies and improve conversion rates
Requirements
- Proven experience in cold calling, lead generation, or inside sales roles with demonstrated success in B2B environments
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build instant rapport and credibility over the phone
- Strong research abilities and experience identifying decision makers within small to medium-sized businesses
- Demonstrated success in getting past gatekeepers and reaching key contacts
- Self-motivated and disciplined for remote work with excellent time management skills
- Experience with CRM systems and tracking tools (Google Sheets experience highly preferred)
- Understanding of the small business landscape and ability to identify qualified prospects
- Comfortable working flexible schedules during optimal calling hours in Eastern Time
- Goal-oriented mindset with interest in performance-based compensation opportunities
- Professional phone presence with clear communication skills suitable for financial services industry
