This is a remote position.

Schedule:  Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Melbourne, Australia)

Total Weekly Hours: 20 hours
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the company’s financial operations on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Australian companies and be proficient in Xero, Employment Hero (payroll), and all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and financial reporting. This role requires strong accounting skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights to support business growth.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the organisation’s financial operations and accounting processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Manage payroll using Employment Hero and ensure compliance with Australian payroll regulations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance; provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholders as required
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures
  • Provide financial analysis to support management decision-making


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accountant, or similar role within an Australian company
  • Strong proficiency in Xero accounting software and Employment Hero payroll system
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and compliance requirements in Australia
  • Advanced skills in AP/AR management and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
