Embark on a journey within MCB’s Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) SBU – Strategic Office. As part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics section, you will engage closely with CIB’s clusters from the outset to gain a deep understanding of each Business Unit and their specific needs. Building on these insights, you will lead the development and implementation a full-fledged business intelligence framework.
CIB services the debt financing, risk management, trade and transactional needs of a wide range of local and multinational companies, and regional businesses, financial institutions, offshore companies, funds and trusts, primarily in Mauritius, sub-Saharan Africa and the region and plays an important part in the MCB Group’s regional diversification strategy.

Job vacancy: Team Leader -Business Intelligence and Analytics
We are looking for a Team Leader – Business Intelligence and Analytics to lead the function within the Strategic Office of CIB. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing, structuring, and transforming data and business intelligence into actionable insights that directly support CIB’s strategic direction and commercial goals. By upholding strong governance standards and aligning intelligence efforts with business priorities, you will provide the clarity and evidence needed to inform strategic decisions and drive successful business initiatives.
In this role you will,
- Design and implement a business intelligence framework that defines how data and insights are captured, curated, and shared across CIB;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Coverage teams, Product teams, and International Offices to ensure intelligence supports client needs and commercial strategies;
- Promote the adoption of BI tools and reporting solutions, enabling teams across CIB to access timely, relevant insights for decision-making;
- Translate the BI vision into actionable plans, with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and alignment to business priorities;
- Ensure the delivery of accurate, relevant analyses, including profitability reviews, forecasts, and scenario modelling to support strategic decisions;
- Act as a subject matter expert in data governance, reporting standards, and analytics practices, while working with the Data function to improve data quality;
- Continuously review and refine systems and processes, ensuring efficiency, adaptability, and alignment with evolving business needs;
- Lead and develop the BI & Analytics team, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability, while ensuring succession planning and alignment with MCB’s values.
To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, or accounting;
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in banking, finance, or business analysis, including at least 3 years in a leadership role;
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau and other business intelligence tools, along with a solid understanding of financial analysis, reporting frameworks, and data governance.
