Joining MCB’s Risk Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is an exciting opportunity and establishes a solid foundation for a career in Banking.

Embark on a journey within the Credit Management BU, which forms part of Risk SBU and is involved in the assessment and approval process of credit facilities. Its responsibility also encompasses close follow up and monitoring of credit exposures with a view to mitigate credit risk, which is the risk of financial loss should borrowers or counterparties fail to fulfill their financial or contractual obligations as and when they fall due.

The Credit Manager - Specialised Finance provides value added risk analysis expertise on Structured Project Finance, Trade Finance deals and complex corporate applications, takes decision on credit facilities in line with the Banks' Credit Risk policy, regulatory guidelines and risk appetite of the Bank whilst facilitating the business to ensure a good risk balance.

We Are Looking For:

Job vacancy: Credit Manager - Specialised Finance

In This Role You Will:

  • Assess corporate credit applications to highlight main risks and mitigants and provide recommendations/take decision on credit requests within discretionary power in line with the Bank's Credit Policy to enable informed decision making to safeguard the interest of the Bank;
  • Provide guidance and support to front liners, and in some specific cases, participate in structuring banking facilities including Structured Project finance and Trade Finance deals to enable identification of risk at an early stage and promote a strong and balanced risk management culture;
  • Maintain good collaborative relationships with front liners to facilitate the lending process thus ensuring a good risk balance;
  • Provide high quality and timely service to clients and ensure that queries and complaints are handled promptly in view of improving customer service standards and achieving customer satisfaction;
  • Conduct proactive credit management on post sanction activities including review of facility documentation, account and covenant monitoring;
  • Provide regular reports on the portfolio and any other information that may be required by internal and external stakeholders;
  • Provide coaching and motivation to team members and ensure their continuous development to maximize on existing talents.

We are looking for candidates who have at least:

Either

  • A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or an equivalent field;
  • At least 6 years’ experience in Corporate Banking with exposure in structured project and trade finance.

Or

• At least 9 years’ experience in Corporate Banking with exposure in structured project and trade finance.

And

  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practice;
  • Knowledge of Financial Analysis techniques;
  • Knowledge of MS Office Tools;
  • Knowledge of Banking Regulatory & Framework, Banking Act 2004;
  • Knowledge of Trade Finance;
  • Knowledge of Project Finance.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
