The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Responsible for conducting crew member training and evaluations, standardization administration, i.e. flight records, AWIS, publications and references. Monitors flight instruction to include aircraft transition training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations. 

Key Responsibility:

  • Participate in the selection and training process of new crew members into the Program. Conduct academic and hands-on performance training and administer evaluations to ensure crew member proficiency and standardization of training in addition to maintaining individual IATFs and completing AWIS entries. 
  • Ensure all RCMs and NRCMs are fully integrated into the ATP, train and evaluate RCMs and NRCMs in their designated aircraft. 
  • Ensure compliance with all Standardization Directives, Air crew Training Manuals, and ATP requirements. 
  • Develop individual flight training plans in support of the organizations mission and ATP. 
  • Oversee maintenance of crew member flight records, weight and balance calculations, and risk assessments. 
  • Monitor crew member proficiency in phases of mission planning and flight operations to ensure compliance with policies and directives.
  • Maintain knowledge of additions and changes to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures SOPs and documentation integral to contract operations. 
  • Train and qualify crew members to fly all approved missions. Assigned duties as Pilot, 
  • Pilot-in-Command, Standardization Pilot, Air Mission Commander, or Flight Lead Performs other qualified duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate Airplane MEL. 
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. 
  • Current FAA Class II Medical certificate. 
  • FAA CFI-CFII single Engine or FAA CFI-CFII-MEI multiengine or military equivalent rating. 
  • Successful completion of FAA Type Rating Course in the selected type required before assignment 
  • Position requires a U.S. Security Clearance. 
  • 1,500 total fixed wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time, and 1000 hours pilot in command.
  • 300 hours turbine engine instructor pilot or check pilot time. 
  • Unrestricted Type Rating. Host Nation equivalent Certifications in lieu of FAA Certifications, if applicable. 
  • Spanish Level L-2, R-2 required in LATAM Programs. 
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing a flight training program. 

Preferred

  • Prior US Military Standardization Pilot. 
  • Prior Instructor or Standardization pilot support to the DoS program. Airline Transport Pilot ATP rating from the FAA.
