Job Description
As the Senior Manager of Software Engineering at ATPCO, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how the global aviation industry operates every day. You’ll lead the teams responsible for collecting, distributing, and delivering ATPCO’s core data assets—the foundation behind the products and services airlines depend on worldwide.
In this role, you’ll guide multiple engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems while driving ATPCO’s evolution toward modern, data-driven, and AI-enabled engineering practices. You’ll set the vision for consistency and excellence across teams, define a technology roadmap for modernization, and establish the metrics that help us move faster and smarter.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development
- Lead and mentor multiple Engineering Managers and their teams, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and accountability.
- Build a strong leadership bench that supports growth, performance, and alignment across all engineering functions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline.
Technology Strategy & Modernization
- Define and maintain ATPCO’s technology roadmap, balancing modernization priorities with stability and customer reliability.
- Partner with Architecture, Product leadership and Operations to evolve legacy systems toward modern, modular, and cloud-ready solutions.
- Ensure technology decisions align with long-term business objectives and industry standards.
Operational Excellence & Reliability
- Champion reliability and performance as foundational pillars of all software engineering efforts.
- Drive alignment in engineering standards, tooling, and processes across teams — including CI/CD, observability, and quality assurance practices.
- Establish and monitor operational health metrics to proactively identify and resolve system risks.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Introduce and standardize engineering metrics (quality) to measure team performance and improvement.
- Identify process bottlenecks and lead initiatives that improve development velocity and release efficiency.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Operations to enhance delivery pipelines, testing automation, and incident response processes.
AI Strategy & Innovation
- Develop and implement ATPCO’s AI strategy within the software development lifecycle, leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, testing, and code quality.
- Identify opportunities for AI to accelerate modernization efforts and enhance developer experience.
- Partner with internal AI and data teams to ensure responsible and effective adoption of emerging technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Infrastructure, and Quality leaders to ensure technology and business priorities remain aligned.
- Communicate strategy, risks, and progress clearly to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing multiple engineering teams or managers.
- Proven success leading teams responsible for high-availability, enterprise-grade systems.
- Demonstrated experience defining and executing a technology roadmap that balances modernization and reliability.
- Track record of driving measurable improvements in engineering process efficiency and product quality.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, DevOps, SRE principles).
- Exposure to or experience with AI-assisted development tools and engineering analytics
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills3
Salary Range: USD $178,000 – $195,000
