Job Purpose: The CCR Operators manage the centralized control of power plant operations from the Centralized Control Room (CCR), ensuring efficient and smooth power generation. They continuously monitor equipment parameters, handle performance variations, issue maintenance permits, and maintain daily operational records. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, coordinating with field workmen, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Centralized Operations Management:

Manage the operation of all machines from the Centralized Control Room (CCR), ensuring smooth and efficient power generation.

Continuously monitor equipment parameters, including water levels, temperature, coal feeding, steam pressure, and power output.

Equipment Monitoring & Control:

Handle variations in equipment performance, making real-time adjustments to maintain optimal operation.

Coordinate with field workmen to ensure proper functioning of all equipment on the ground.

Permit Issuing & Coordination:

Issue permits for maintenance and repair work, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance teams to address any operational issues.

Daily Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including equipment status, power generation, and any incidents.

Prepare and submit daily reports to the Section Head, highlighting any concerns or areas for improvement.

Compliance & Safety Monitoring:

Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations during plant operations.

Implement safety procedures and address any non-compliance issues immediately.

Communication & Coordination:

Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve any operational issues or maintenance requirements.

Work closely with field workmen to ensure seamless coordination between the control room and on-ground operations.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime.

Suggest and implement improvements to control room procedures and protocols.

Internal Controls & Ethical Standards:

Use ethical reasoning to guide decisions, considering the broader impact on the organization and stakeholders.

Ensure all communications, both verbal and written, reflect the organization’s commitment to integrity and ethics.

Organizational Skills:

Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of departmental objectives and projects.

Implement best practices in workflow management to reduce bottlenecks and improve output quality.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and demands with agility.

Education Qualification:

BE in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Work Experience:

5+ years of experience in power plant operations with a focus on centralized control room management. Proven experience in monitoring equipment, handling performance variations.

Industry Knowledge:

Solid understanding of power plant operations, equipment monitoring, and safety regulations.
