Job Purpose: The Maintenance Mechanical Packing Plant (GU) oversees maintenance activities for the Packing Plant, ensuring optimal performance and availability of equipment such as packing machines and material handling systems. This role involves developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, managing spare parts inventory, and leading improvement projects to enhance efficiency. The Maintenance Mechanical Packing Plant (GU) also ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, coordinates with logistics and production teams, and fosters continuous improvement through training and innovation.
Mechancial Packing Plant Maintenance Oversight:
Supervise and manage maintenance activities for the Packing Plant, including equipment such as packing machines, wagon loading systems, and material handling equipment.
Ensure effective maintenance practices to optimize equipment availability and support logistics requirements.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for packing equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Use predictive maintenance tools and techniques to anticipate potential issues and schedule maintenance activities accordingly.
Internal Control & Transparency:
Implement and monitor mechanical internal control systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and transparency in daily operations
Regularly assess and identify potential risks within the organization, recommending and implementing control measures to enhance transparency
Equipment Performance Monitoring:
Monitor the performance of packing plant equipment, including packaging machinery, filling systems, and bulk cement loading systems, to ensure they meet operational standards.
Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Improvement & Modification Projects:
Lead and execute mechanical related improvement and modification projects aimed at cost reduction and productivity enhancement in the Packing Plant.
Coordinate with other departments to implement changes that increase operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management:
Manage the inventory of spare parts for packing plant equipment, ensuring timely availability of critical components while optimizing inventory levels.
Coordinate with the Incharge - Planning (Mechanical and E&I) (GU) to align spare parts inventory with maintenance schedules and operational needs.
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations, promoting a safe and compliant working environment.
Implement and monitor safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to the work permit system.
Coordination With Logistics & Production:
Liaise with logistics and production teams to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to packing operations and meeting dispatch requirements.
Address any issues related to equipment performance or maintenance that may impact production and logistics.
Training & Development:
Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance staff in the Packing Plant, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging staff to stay updated with industry best practices and new technologies.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and improvement projects.
Prepare and submit reports on packing plant maintenance performance, including metrics on equipment availability, downtime, and safety compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the Packing Plant maintenance processes, focusing on enhancing equipment reliability and reducing operational costs.
Explore and implement innovative solutions and technologies to improve maintenance practices and overall plant performance.

Education Qualification:
BE in Mechanical Engineering.
Work Experience:
7+ years in maintenance management for manufacturing or industrial environments, with significant experience in packing plant systems and equipment. Proven ability in maintenance program implementation and project leadership.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of packing plant equipment and maintenance practices, with expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance.
