Summary - Experienced medical coder specializing in the accurate and timely coding of complex inpatient cases, with a strong focus on Level 1 trauma patient records.

Responsibilities:

Review and analyze comprehensive medical records of trauma patients including detailed documentation of injuries and treatments.

Utilize advanced coding knowledge and resources to ensure proper ICD-10 PCS, CPT, and Modifier assignment for complex trauma cases, including multiple injuries, complications, and comorbidities.

Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in coding to meet the demands of a fast-paced Level 1 trauma center environment.

Understand and adhere to all applicable coding guidelines, regulations, and standards including those specific to trauma centers.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: CPC Required
  • Experience: 2+ years post certification coding at a Level 1 Trauma Center for Trauma Specialty. 
  • Knowledge: Proficient in ICD-10, CPT coding coding systems, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to navigate electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding software proficiently (EPIC)
