Principal Transport Planning Officer

Permanent

  • Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
  • Working 36.5 hours per week 

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for passionate and enthusiastic people to join our Transport Planning Service to take forward the development of transport policy and strategy, key programmes and projects in support of the development, management and delivery of the Birmingham Transport Plan.

We are currently seeing billions of pounds of investment in major developments and infrastructure projects across the West Midlands, while the Council is working at scale and pace to bring forward its ambitious Birmingham Transport Plan. Our transport system is being transformed to ensure the city accommodates this growth sustainably and adapts to climate change. 

The demand for transport planning expertise is greater than ever, to shape our transport strategies and ensure the development, delivery, and activation of a range of new projects and programmes. We are looking for talented and experienced transport planners to contribute in delivering our aims – come and join the team supporting people on this journey!
