Wood is currently seeking an energetic, hands-on and driven Senior Project Manager to be based in our Melbourne office.

The Role

This role will have direct contractual and execution oversight associated with a significant energy and chemical supply projects onshore Victorian based. This position will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of project execution associated with FEED through to EPC incorporating Subcontractor management. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on role in leading a team to deliver a safe and efficient outcome in keeping with project management excellence.

The key objectives for this role are: 

  • Pro-actively build key client stake holder and Wood team relationships, ensuring trust and open communication within the existing client organisation
  • Responsibility for the financial and technical success of the project and the overall contract
  • Project manage and lead a team in estimating proposals through to delivery onshore projects
  • Sub-contractor integration and performance management

  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively build relationships and trust with clients. Takes responsibility for customer satisfaction
  • Previous experience in the role of a Senior Project Manager directly leading a multi-discipline project team to deliver Oil & Gas and Chemical Proposals, FEED's and EPC projects, onshore
  • Demonstrated experience in chemical plant infrastructure development both brown field and green field an advantage
  • Demonstrated skills necessary to drive and lead a project team, develop design / implementation schedules and stay across the details to provide on-going status reports
  • Works actively with construction and maintenance teams to develop & execute projects safety and effectively in the office and field
  • Demonstrated experience with design modularisation to support site execution would be favourable
  • Sets clear expectations for their teams, communicate organisation roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Develops targets and priorities for continuous improvement of the Engineering and Procurement / Construction interfaces
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
