POSITION TITLE: Collateral Analyst, Capital Markets Operations
Position Summary:
The Capital Markets Operations Collateral Analyst is responsible for the coordination and delivery of physical as well as electronic collateral documents in accordance with master repurchase agreements, selling guidelines, contracts and/or mandatory commitments. This position is responsible for ensuring timely collateral deliveries, as well as for investigating and resolving document and data discrepancies.
Job Functions And Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Examples below:
- Process the daily delivery of data and documents to the document custodian in accordance with warehouse investor requirements. Obtain images from vendors and maintain tracking and reconciliation. Investigate and resolve exceptions cited by investors/document custodians to resolve document and data exceptions.
- Manage loans in pipeline to ensure optimal warehouse financing availability. Manage and report on aging loans in accordance with warehouse financing contractual requirements.
- Prepare allonges and note endorsements per warehouse and delivery requirements. Clear collateral exceptions as needed including modification exceptions.
- Travel on a daily basis to the Custodian office in Fort Washington, PA to prepare physical collateral for loan warehousing and delivery (note endorsements, etc.) and identification of collateral not on Custodian’s system.
- Review documents and images to ensure compliance with PHH product requirements, GSE requirements, warehouse investor contracts and/or mandatory commitments. Communicate with upstream and downstream business partners on suggestions for process improvements as well as updating of loan-level data.
- Perform loan quality/eligibility checks prior to delivery to ensure highest product quality from a loan delivery perspective.
- Act as a liaison between Capital Markets and Record Services for the clearing of loan modification exceptions to ensure timely delivery.
- Complete pool deliveries to GSEs/investors including communication with document Custodian for the movement of collateral as needed. Investigate and resolve pool discrepancies with GSE/investors. Perform loan quality/eligibility checks prior to delivery to ensure highest product quality from a loan delivery perspective.
- Manage the delivery of collateral for all EBO and modification transactions. Coordinate all exception clearing and file location analysis to ensure maximum pull-through in order to maintain deal economics.
Key Result Areas: (if needed)
- Required to travel daily to Custodian’s offices in Fort Washington, PA to perform collateral preparation and reporting tasks on site.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or three to five years related Document Management and/or Loan Delivery experience.
- Familiarity with GSE guidelines and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the current mortgage banking practices, particularly an understanding of custodial, warehouse and settlement processes and policies.
- Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, including peers, management, clients, and outside counterparties.
- Self-starter that has the ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines in a constantly changing environment.
Training / Licensing Requirements:
- Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
The salary range for this position is expected to be $75,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
