Accounting Tax Specialist

About The Role

Goldenergy is seeking a results-driven Accounting Tax Specialist to join our inclusive and thriving Tax, Accounting & Treasury team. As an Accounting Tax Specialist, you will play a key part in managing the company's tax accounting and compliance processes, ensuring Goldenergy remains at the forefront of financial integrity. You will bring technical expertise and a proactive approach as we continue to strengthen our reputation in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities In Tax Accounting And Compliance

• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, and supporting the generation of financial reports;
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts to ensure cash balances are accurately reported;
• Prepare and process payment batches;
• Daily allocation of receipt from customers;
• Internal and/or external audit follow-up;
• Contact with partners, including external auditors;
• Assist all account year-end;
• Presenting new solution with an impact on decision-making.

What You’Ll Bring To Our Tax And Finance Team

• Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field;
• Solid experience in tax accounting, statutory reporting, or audit (ideally 2+ years);
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax legislation, VAT, CIT and statutory filings;
• Familiarity with accounting standards (SNC, IFRS is a plus);
• Confident use of Microsoft Excel and accounting software;
• Analytical mindset with a meticulous attention to detail;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach;
• Proactive and organised, comfortable with deadlines and prioritising multiple projects.

Desirable Skills & Experience For An Accounting Tax Specialist

• Previous experience working with tax compliance in the energy sector;
• Ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-specialist colleagues;
• Professional tax qualification (e.g. OTOC or equivalent) will be valued;
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Work type: 100% in the office
