The Role

As a Footwear Buyer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our product offering and driving the success of our footwear category. Your expertise in trend analysis, market research, and vendor negotiations will be essential as you select the best footwear products to meet the dynamic needs of our diverse customer base. You will collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, and inventory management, to ensure that our footwear offerings exceed customer expectations and contribute to the overall growth of Debenhams Group. What You'Ll Be Doing

• Conduct market research to identify footwear trends and customer preferences.
• Develop and manage relationships with footwear vendors and suppliers.
• Analyse sales data and performance metrics to inform buying decisions.
• Full product development
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling product launches.
• Monitor inventory levels and develop strategies to optimize stock availability.
• Participate in product assortment planning and category reviews to enhance the footwear offering.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as a buyer in the footwear or fashion industry.
• Own brand product development experience is essential
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Understanding of retail buying processes and inventory management.
• Current knowledge of footwear trends, materials, and technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
