Summary Of Position:
The Associate Manager, Institutional Programs is responsible for implementing a wide range of programs that fall within Meridian’s development portfolio. The Associate Manager will serve as primary and secondary producer on salon dinners, forums, briefings, receptions and other formats as needed to service Meridian’s range of stakeholder groups, including the private sector, U.S. government, individual supporters, and diplomatic corps.
This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice.
Position Responsibilities:
Implementation:
- Draft, send and track programmatic correspondence including speaker invitations, event invitations, confirmation emails and thank you notes. With support, track and manage RSVP lists across multiple platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Linvio), ensuring accuracy and follow-up.
- Support design and day-of management and production of all programs (approx. 30 events annually, primarily in-person with occasional hybrid or virtual) designed and/or implemented by the Engagement, Growth, and Partnerships Team.
- Oversee program data and related event websites with accurate content including event details, registration functionality, and post event summaries. Assist in updating past event descriptions and stakeholder bios.
- Coordinate and liaise with Meridian Events team for logistics of programs.
- Coordinate with Meridian Communications team for collateral development, invitations, social media content, etc.
- Support outside-of-DC convening to build Meridian’s profile outside of our nation’s capitol region
Delegations:
- Support for Meridian’s Global Insights Delegations and forthcoming exchange programs with individual or corporate-focused stakeholders, including budgeting, program design, resource identification and outreach, and enrollment
Business Development:
- Support in development and outreach for sponsorships and partner initiatives, including Social Secretaries reception, Welcome to Washington, and similar types of programs
Network Engagement
- Lead designer of Meridian Salons network engagement tools, to include quarterly convenings and routine meetings among the group’s leadership
- Contribute substantively towards development of key networks and audiences across Meridian’s programs, including research, attendance at relevant programs, and cultivation activities
- Engage with a distinct set of embassies in Washington, DC, serving as the primary relationship manager.
Administrative/Other:
- General Salesforce usage and list maintenance.
- Cultivation of networks—Engagement with embassies and the private sector, building up your personal network and Meridian’s network.
- Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Customer service experience and mindset
- Understanding of and interest in non-profit development and fundraising activities
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal; experience drafting invitations, bios, event descriptions
- Familiarity with staffing events
- Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented, with excellent time management skills
- Driven and high-energy personality with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world
Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role
- Experience with Canva, Zoom and Salesforce is helpful
