Staff Software Engineer, Google Pay

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience, including technical management of software developers and system administrators/architects.
• 3 years of experience leading a team of engineers to deliver in environment.
• Experience with design and architecture of distributed systems, high reliability fault tolerant systems , API design, micro-services architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building and leading high performance agile teams and executing in a fast moving space with a complex organization or setup.
• Experience building consumer end to end products with some exposure to UX, front-end in addition to back-end systems.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with other Engineering and Product teams to build features for a rapidly growing fintech ecosystem in some of the most vibrant markets of the world. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of high-calibre Engineers focused on building end to end horizontal and vertical products. Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, judgment, and mentoring to the team.
• Partner and Collaborate with cross-functional teams and define the engineering strategy and roadmap. Execute on the strategies and roadmap and deliver high-impact solutions for GPay Merchants and beyond.
• Expect to come up with innovative ideas, challenge assumptions, and deliver the best solutions for our merchants.
• Take end-to-end ownership for multiple aspects of the feature life-cycle and the software stack, including ideation, design, development, testing, deployment, support, partner interaction.
• Develop and sustain a culture of engineering excellence in the organization.
