- 8 years of experience with software development.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
- 5 years of experience with Android.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 10 years of Android application development experience in C++, Java, or Kotlin.
- 8 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with agentic systems, large language models (LLMs), or other machine learning technologies.
- Experience building high-quality, well-documented, and consistent APIs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical goal and roadmap for cross-device experiences. Make critical architectural decisions, ensuring the platform is scalable, maintainable, and adaptable to future needs.
- Lead the architectural design and integration of related cross-functional solutions into our development and testing infrastructure.
- Act as a key technical leader and representative for the Better Together team in collaborations with partner teams across Google, including Android, Gemini, and first-party hardware, as well as with external OEMs. Influence technical direction and drive alignment across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Design and implement functionalities, focusing on enhancing user experiences with features like Quick Share and Fast Pair.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, providing mentorship and guidance to engineers. Grow the team's technical capabilities by fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
