IMG Customs Analyst

Provide advice on customs technical and regulatory requirements in the following areas: 

Customs valuation

Tariff classification

Rules of Origin and origin determination

Preferential trade programs e.g. FTA, customs regimes in Asia-Pacific, South Africa and Middle East.

Duty-saving opportunities based on local customs privileges and international trade programs

Support Regional Customs Manager in developing customs strategy and handling customs technical issues/cases

Advise on customs technical data, including but not limited to tariff classification, duty & FTA rate, preferential customs scheme, etc. for special projects or vehicle program studies 

Develop and update Database on tariff classification, regulatory and FTA for countries in Asia-Pacific, South Africa and Middle East

Coordinate with relevant Ford teams at regional level 

Periodic review of customs procedures, related documentation and regulatory requirement for risk management and compliance purpose

Explore and identify customs-related cost and duty saving opportunities of Ford operations in the region

#Li-Pc

• Bachelor's or Master's in Business, International Trade, Finance, Logistics/Supply Chain 
• Sound technical knowledge of customs fundamental, i.e. customs valuation, tariff classification, rules of origin, preferential trade under FTA, international trade & customs regimes, incoterms
• 5+ years of experience in customs technical or mix of technical and operations
• Following basic knowledge is preferable: 
• Customs regulations of countries in Asia-Pacific region
• Knowledge and/or experience in automotive industry
• Experience in dealing with national customs and other government agencies in Asia-Pacific region
• Interpersonal skill in working and ability to work with people in cross-cultural environment
• Strong English communication skills in writing, reading and speaking
• Good analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skill 
• Self-disciplined and committed to deliver the assigned tasks within due timeline
• Basic computer skill and AI technology knowledge
• Customs regulations of countries in Asia-Pacific region
• Knowledge and/or experience in automotive industry
• Experience in dealing with national customs and other government agencies in Asia-Pacific region
• Interpersonal skill in working and ability to work with people in cross-cultural environment
