How can you make a difference?

The Immunization Officer provides support to the Immunization Manager in relation to program design, planning, implementation, evaluation and administration of the immunization program and related campaigns. This will include supply forecasting, tracking and updating MOH on same, data analysis, programme support, delivery of programs particularly in West Bank, donor support and reporting.

The Immunization Officer will support the Immunization Manager with tasks related to immunization and to support West Bank immunization activities.

III. Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks

  • Vaccine Supply Forecasting, Logistics Coordination and immunization supply chain strengthening -
  • Support annual national forecasts for vaccines and related immunization supplies (syringes, safety boxes, cold chain consumables) in close collaboration with MoH.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast and pipeline overview; ensure MoH is regularly updated on procurement status, delivery schedules, shipment tracking, stock status, and potential risks/mitigations.
  • Coordinate with Supply and Logistics Section for shipment planning, customs clearance, in-country receipt, and distribution planning; flag bottlenecks and propose solutions.
  • Support preparation for and implementation of Effective Vaccine Management Assessment (EVMA) and preparation of comprehensive improvement plan
  • Under the supervision of the Immunization Manager, support the planning and implementation of cold chain inventory and gap analysis, and support preparation of cold chain expansion and replacement plans.
  • Support annual national forecasts for vaccines and related immunization supplies (syringes, safety boxes, cold chain consumables) in close collaboration with MoH.
  • Maintain a rolling forecast and pipeline overview; ensure MoH is regularly updated on procurement status, delivery schedules, shipment tracking, stock status, and potential risks/mitigations.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve immunization coverage and equity, with a focus on underserved and high-risk populations.
  • Support the identification and mapping of zero-dose and under-immunized children using available data and community-based approaches.
  • Collaborate with partners and MOH to design and implement targeted interventions to reach zero-dose children and reduce immunization inequities.
  • Provide operational, logistics, and monitoring support for supplemental immunization activities (SIAs), outbreak response (OBR), and other campaigns as required.
  • Coordinate microplanning inputs (target setting, mapping, team composition), readiness assessments, on-time supply distribution, and post-campaign coverage and wastage reviews.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and visualize programme management information to inform design, budgeting, implementation, management and/or evaluation of immunization activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of results frameworks, workplans, activity-based budgets, and monitoring dashboards; ensure alignment with national plans and UNICEF/partner frameworks.
  • Contribute to data quality assurance, routine performance reviews and learning loops with MoH and partners.
  • Provide inputs to Situation Reports (SitReps), RAM (Results Assessment Module), COAR (Country Office Annual Report), and other strategic documents as required.
  • Ensure immunization data and narratives are accurately reflected in UNICEF reporting systems
  • Prepare briefs, talking points, and presentations for senior management, government counterparts, and partners.
  • Participate in and document technical working groups, NITAG/partner coordination meetings, and subnational review meetings as requested.
  • Support capacity building for MoH and subnational staff on Effective Vaccine Management, immunization practices, supply planning, data use, monitoring, and reporting tools, in collaboration with government and partners.
  • Draft and/or contribute to high-quality concept notes, proposals, budgets, and amendments for immunization-specific resource mobilization.
  • Prepare timely donor updates and reports with results, narratives, financials, and visibility materials; ensure compliance with donor conditions.
  • Support ongoing management of donor relationships and other immunization partners; coordinate field missions, visibility events, and learning visits.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: University Degree in health, medicine, social sciences, public health, family health, nursing or field relevant to international development in Immunization and Child Survival and Health Care. Experience: 1 year of relevant professional experience. Relevant field work experience. Experience in knowledge management. Training and experience in immunization.
