Position Overview

The Medical Assistant supports providers and medical staff by handling administrative and clinical duties to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient care. The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. This is a full-time float position that requires occasional travel between our nearby practices. You may be scheduled to work at other locations as needed.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain accurate patient records and medical charts 
  • Schedule appointments and process prior authorizations 
  • Respond to patient messages and provider communications 
  • Link diagnostic imaging with provider orders and track results 
  • Verify insurance coverage for client-billed lab services 
  • Take and record patient vitals, health screenings, and medication logs 
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms 
  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKG and assist with lab tests 
  • Administer injections and treatments as directed 
  • Support quality initiatives and PCMH compliance 
  • Provide coverage for absent staff and support team members as needed 
  • Communicate effectively and follow procedural guidelines 
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs. 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in primary or immediate care 
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant 
  • Certified Medical Assistant training program completed 
  • EMR experience required; ECW and Athena preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) 
  • Population health knowledge is a plus 
  • Current, valid driver’s license required; reliable transportation necessary 

Medical Clearance Requirements All new hires must meet CPC’s medical clearance requirements, including (but not limited to): 

  • Hepatitis B documentation 
  • Pneumococcal screening 
  • Tuberculosis screening
