Description
- Title: Community Engagement Coordinator (Part-Time)
- Reports to: Director of Marketing and Data Management
Location: Middletown/Newburgh
Hours: Up to 25 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required for community events.
Job Objectives:
- Represent MHA at priority community outreach events, fairs, and street outreach with partner agencies.
- Strengthen agency visibility and partnerships by participating in select coalitions and community workgroups.
- Provide educational presentations on MHA services to schools, libraries, and community partners.
- Supports MHA’s social media presence by producing consistent, engaging content tied to awareness campaigns and events.
- Perform duties while actively promoting an environment consistent with MHA’s Cultural Equity Policy and WELCOME Orange.
Responsibilities:
- Represent MHAOC at community events, fairs, and outreach opportunities, ensuring accurate and engaging information is shared.
- Coordinate with staff across programs to schedule and staff tabling events, presentations, and outreach activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and organizations to promote collaboration and referrals.
- Assist with the creation of outreach materials, including flyers, newsletters, and social media content, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Data Management.
- Track outreach activities and outcomes through designated reporting systems to support evaluation and communication efforts.
- Train and support staff and volunteers in outreach best practices and the use of branded outreach kits.
- Work with program teams to highlight success stories, promote awareness initiatives, and encourage staff participation in community events.
- Maintain organized records of community engagement opportunities, contacts, and follow-up actions.
- Support special projects and agency-wide events (e.g., awareness campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and annual meetings).
Other Duties:
- Participate in agency committees as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, human services, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in outreach, social media, or community engagement.
- Experience working with individuals with a mental illness or serious emotional disturbance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks within variable weekly schedule.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for agency insurance coverage.
- Must maintain acceptable records under the OMH criminal background check and Medicaid Fraud & Abuse clearance processes.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Terms Of Employment/Benefits:
· Non-Exempt
- Forty (40) hours per week.
