About The Role:
Reporting to the Director, Partner Publishing - APAC, the Associate Publisher is responsible for the overall management of assigned publishing verticals, including product strategy, development, acquisitions, and delivery. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the reputation and quality of our journals, supporting healthy growth, and representing Wiley in the research community. You will work closely with editorial boards and external editors, evaluate journal performance, support development, manage editorial team recruitment, and oversee strategic content commissioning. The role also involves outreach and thought leadership within the research community.
How you will make an impact:
- Develop excellent working relationships with external editors and editorial boards to build and maintain the journal's reputation and quality.
- Evaluate performance and support journal development to best serve research communities.
- Manage recruitment for editorial teams and adjust editorial structures as required.
- Plan and oversee strategic content commissioning and other efforts to support healthy growth.
- Represent Wiley in the academic community through outreach (virtual and in-person) and thought leadership.
- You will play a key role in evaluating and identifying local journals
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in publishing, editorial management, or related areas.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.
- Experience with recruitment, financial planning related to publishing, and public speaking on complex issues is a plus.
