Asset Performance Operations > Remote Operations Centers > ROC Chennai
Global Operations Engineering, Remote Operations Centers, Remote Operations Center APAC Remote Operations Center (ROC) provides real-time operational support to maximize turbine and system availability. We provide required support for external customers, field personnel, and technical and operational issues. Our department strives to bring forth technical and operational improvement solutions to optimize turbine cost of energy.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced-level remote operations and diagnostics of wind turbines using SCADA, IT diagnostic tools, and SAP front-end systems
- Analyze operational performance, diagnose turbine issues, and recommend/implement solutions to ensure targets are achieved
- Apply in-depth field knowledge of wind turbine systems (gearbox, controls, etc.) to support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively with field teams, customers, and key stakeholders; manage escalations and customer inquiries
- Contribute to continuous improvement through RCA, lean initiatives, quality audits, and proactive process enhancements
- Share knowledge with team members, mentor on complex technical issues, and promote a culture of integrity, reliability, and quality
- Manage Escalations through undertaking and interpreting WTG data
- Take full ownership of technical solutions offered for each asset, including fault resolution and park support
- Ensure delivery of high-quality technical support within agreed timelines
- Conduct technical reviews (guidelines and checklists) to reflect regional-specific requirements
- Support by providing data and insights on complex technical issues to help achieve KPI targets
- Mentor team members, foster accountability, encourage collaboration, and act as a bridge within the team
- Identify areas of improvement and actively support lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support business objectives with flexibility in schedule and travel, as required
Qualifications
- B.E in Mechanical / Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent education
- Minimum 9 years technical in wind industry experience
- Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate IT tools
- Should possess excellent verbal communication skills and reading comprehension skills Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
- Prior customer relations experience in a commercial setting preferred
- Offshore experience is preferred
Competencies
- Experience in Wind Turbine operation and maintenance or wind turbine remote operations and support or Wind Turbine testing or relevant Wind turbine technical exposure through which there is a good technical understanding of different functionalities
- Perform medium operational performance analysis and execute strategy to ensure targets are achieved
- Should have good communication skills to handle Global stake holders
- Ability to understand technical language and to recognize and differentiate technical issue
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment
- Willing to work in rotating shift pattern, (including night shift)
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Word, Excel, and PPT
- Experience in remote operation (offshore) and diagnostic tools, SAP front end, analytical tools like SQL & Power BI will be an added advantage
