The Senior Finance Manager is a strategic finance leader responsible for overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, compensation governance, and business performance analysis for the Global Asset Management business. This role partners closely with senior leadership and department heads to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information that supports decision-making and drives operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
- • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reporting for Asset Management.
- • Oversee closing journal entries and trial balance processes, including review and preparation of business line allocations.
- • Prepare comprehensive reporting packages, dashboards, and departmental expense reports.
- • Deliver quarterly submissions including Business Line Overview, and variance commentary.
- • Consolidate brand-level results and provide relevant insights to senior management.
- • Present and communicate financial results to business heads.
- • Maintain and enhance systems to support efficient reporting processes.
- Forecasting & Annual Profit Planning
- • Lead the annual profit plan and quarterly forecasting processes across business units.
- • Collaborate with department heads to develop driver-based forecasts and budgets.
- • Ensure timely and accurate data collection and analysis for financial planning.
- • Recommend financial models and strategic benchmarks to improve forecasting accuracy.
- • Coordinate departmental expense budgets and prepare profit plan presentations
- for senior leadership.
Business Partnership & Compensation Support
• Oversee governance and modeling of variable compensation plans.
• Act as a subject matter expert on compensation structures and ensure policy
adherence.
• Perform data integrity checks and reconciliations for compensation and reporting
models.
• Manage ad-hoc requests related to data, reporting, and modeling.
• Develop and refine driver-based Excel models for forecasting and expense
management.
• Lead monthly stock-based compensation entries and vesting schedule planning.
• Deliver accurate performance incentive calculations and forecasts.
• Provide monthly commentary on compensation-related expense variances.
- Expense Management & Governance
- • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and variance analysis.
- • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.
- • Investigate and explain significant transactions and variances.
Strategic Projects & Business Insights
• Provide financial insight and modeling for strategic initiatives, new products, and
compensation programs.
• Design and maintain profitability models and management reports to support
decision-making.
• Prepare periodic analysis of financial trends and business performance metrics.
• Craft and present recommendations to senior management based on financial
analytics.
- Ad-Hoc Support
- • Respond to finance-related inquiries and support requests from internal
- stakeholders.
- • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis for senior management.
Do You Have the Skills?
• CPA designation or equivalent financial certification preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of compensation governance and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex projects.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Asset Management or Wealth Management is an asset.
Additional requirements:
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and generally accepted accounting
principles
• Advanced knowledge of Access database query tools
• Advance knowledge of business related computer software specifically Excel,
PowerPoint and Word, and Power BI
• Accounting related experience and advanced analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of the securities and financial services industry (ie
investment funds industry)
• Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a
common occurrence.
