Summary
The Reimer Lab studies sensory processing across different brain states and the mechanisms that control the gating and routing of information in the brain. The lab is seeking a talented technician to aid in behavioral training experiments with mice, carry out multi- photon in vivo imaging experiments, and possibly perform cranial window surgeries. Experience with mouse handling/surgeries or microscopy is desired, but we are willing to train the right person. Other desirable skills include viral injections, basic programming skills, or electrophysiology is a plus.
Job Duties
- Trains mice to respond in a behavioral paradigm, under the supervision of the PI.
- Collects large scale neural recordings using multiphoton fluorescence imaging as well as behavioral recordings.
- Documents the research activites for publication and grant reporting.
- Prepares animals for recording, that may include cranial window surgery and/or viral vector injections into mouse cortex.
- Helps set up and maintain behavioral apparatus and data acquisition equipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mouse handling/surgeries or microscopy is desired, but we are willing to train the right person.
- Experience with other desirable skills include viral injections, basic programming skills, or electrophysiology is a plus.
