Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Conference and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic Conference & Events team on a fixed-term basis, for a period of 6 months.

The role will provide essential support to the Commercial Services & Operations Manager across a variety of internal and external events and projects, ensuring their successful planning, coordination, and delivery.  

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a range of events, from student-focused activities to large-scale conferences and external corporate engagements, all within the vibrant and diverse university environment.

About The Role

As a Conference and Events Coordinator, you will play a key role in assisting with the planning, organisation, and delivery of a diverse range of conferences, events, and student activities across all university campuses. 

Events include:

·       Awards & Graduation ceremonies·       Summer Language Schools·       Academic Conferences, symposiums and meetings·       Weddings, charity & social events·       Student Events You will provide essential operational support, managing logistics, liaising with suppliers, and coordinating resources to ensure smooth event execution. Working closely with the Commercial Services & Operations Manager, you'll help create event materials and ensure timely, high-quality delivery. 

Additionally, you’ll be a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, offering outstanding customer service and addressing any issues that arise. Your creativity and experience will be pivotal in delivering engaging student-focused events and helping to develop effective marketing strategies to enhance event engagement and outcomes. You will also ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, monitor event success, and contribute to continuous improvement.

About You

You are a proactive and highly organised individual with proven experience in event coordination, ideally within an academic or student-focused environment. You excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and that every detail is accounted for. 

With excellent communication skills, you are confident liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and can effectively manage relationships to ensure the success of each event. Your creativity and problem-solving ability enable you to anticipate challenges and devise effective solutions, ensuring smooth event delivery every time.

Your strong time management skills, combined with a flexible and adaptable approach, allow you to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage a variety of events and audiences. 

You are comfortable using Microsoft 365, and you take pride in your ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure. 

Experience coordinating student events is highly desirable, but not essential, and you hold a full, clean driving licence, allowing you to travel between campuses and external venues as needed. Your attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service make you a valuable addition to the conference & events team.

Additional Information

Salary Grade 5 -  £29,588 per annum     

This is a fixed-term position for a period of 6 months. The role will require occasional evening and weekend work, depending on the events scheduled.

Please Note: You must hold a Clean Full Valid UK Drivers Licence.
