Overview
The Center of Excellence drives to manage Supply Chain complexity more effectively and efficiently by implementing innovative improvements across supply chain functions, processes, and technology. The CoE works to develop and execute initiatives that focus on providing our supply chain team to make faster data driven decisions that improve our overall performance. Concentrated on orchestrating end to end change and improving disciplines, not on executing day to day operations. The Data and Systems Engineer will be responsible for understanding existing data structures for GSC, collaborating with the business and IT to build the roadmap for future needs, develop solutions using automation, and continuous training of the business on the technology.
Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Strategy
- Design, maintain, and execute to the 3-year vision for the data architecture of supply chain data systems, ensuring scalability, integration, and alignment with business needs.
- Define data models and structures that support decision support tools, supply chain systems, scenario modeling, and optimization.
Governance & Quality
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, including definitions, lineage, and access protocols.
- Maintain the Global Supply Chain (GSC) data catalog and ensure consistency across metrics and datasets.
Business–It Liaison
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
- Work with operations and other business functions on identifying and using data cross functional reports
- Partner with IT to implement and troubleshoot data systems, pilot new solutions, and ensure system reliability.
Enablement & Collaboration
- Support analysts and project teams by ensuring data infrastructure enables reusable models and scalable analytics.
- Work with GSC project teams to ensure right data inputs and exports are used for supply chain systems
- Collaborate with Strategy Team to align tools and systems with strategic priorities.
Strategic Impact
- Responsible for the design of enterprise dashboards that help monitor how processes are running.
- Support KPI ownership and reporting logic validation.
Visualization & Reporting
- Develop interactive Enterprise dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop.
- Present trends, patterns, and key insights in a visually compelling and user-friendly format.
Data Modeling & Analysis
- Design and build data models aligned with business requirements.
- Use DAX and Power Query to convert enterprise data into meaningful visualizations.
Data Integration & Transformation
- Connect to various data sources using SQL, HANA, Datasphere, DI and/or Power Query.
- Ensure high performance and reliability of data pipelines.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with SMEs to understand complex datasets for next-generation data products.
- Communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to meet reporting and supply chain system needs.
Support & Maintenance
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all dashboards.
- Troubleshoot Power BI solutions, including performance tuning and data refresh issues.
- Provide after-hours support for critical bugs as needed.
Continuous Learning
- Stay current with Power BI, Fabric and DataSphere features, best practices, and industry trends in data analytics.
Work Experiences
- 6–10 of experience in data-related fields or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience.
- 3 years as a data analyst or data engineer.
- Proficiency in BI tools, SAP S4 HANA, and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong data modeling and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, DAX, and Power Query.
- Experience integrating Power BI
- Strong documentation and training skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or business-related discipline from a university with a strong academic reputation.
