Summary

Paragon, is seeking a Project Manager I to provide quality control reviews for Project Management Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, Data and Document Management Plans, Monthly Progress Reports for task orders, UFP-QAPPs, and Work Plans, and daily field reports.  The project is a large environmental contract for a CERCLA site at a former military installation. This role will be primarily responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination, quality control reviews, and successful completion of project deliverables.  Additional responsibilities include managing and coordinating field efforts, training junior staff on documentation, and other project tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality control, safety, and efficiency for projects.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and review work of assigned project personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Mentor and train junior staff.
  • Develop, review, and update schedules, review and track submittals.
  • Manage subcontractors, assist with procurement, schedule equipment, manage the Request for Information process, and assist with project management documentation and coordination.
  • Assist with responding to proposals including developing detailed cost estimates, recommending vendors and subcontractors for various projects, and discussing and obtaining appropriate quotations in coordination with the purchasing department.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a high level of organization and strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness, desire, and ability to adapt to a changing regulatory climate.
  • Ten or more (10+) years of experience working on environmental investigation and remediation consulting projects.
  • Experience with OSHA, RCRA, CERCLA, and other regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience working with Federal and state agencies and local stakeholders on environmental projects.
  • Familiarity with technical data analysis, contamination delineation, and remediation techniques.
  • Experience directing, training, and motivating personnel.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Ability to write, review, and edit project deliverables including Project Management Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, Data and Document Management Plans, Monthly Progress Reports for task orders, UFP-QAPPs, Work Plans, Feasibility Studies, Remedial Action Completion Reports, and subcontractor deliverables.
  • Must be task oriented, self-motivated with the inherent ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet short deadlines, and work as a team member and as a team lead.
  • Ability to meet quick turnaround times for addressing comments on documents.
  • Prior cost proposal and work breakdown development experience.

Work Environment

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.  Occasional travel for meetings or field visits may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

·         No supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
