Job Description

We’re looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our team here at TAL. In this role, you’ll kick off your career by helping support our blue-chip clients in the Australian Group Life Insurance market. You’ll work on a range of tasks that make a real difference in the lives of everyday Aussies, while learning the ropes in life insurance pricing.

You’ll get plenty of chances to work with experienced people, and you’ll have a direct hand in supporting our clients and protecting millions of Australians. If you’re keen to learn and want to help shape the future of insurance, this could be the spot for you.

We’re after someone who’s comfortable with technical skills (especially R and SQL), pays close attention to detail, manages their time well, and can explain things clearly. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and give it a go, we’d love to hear from you.

In This Role You Will:

  • Assist in standard pricing activities, including premium rerate, commercial model calculations, experience reviews and product upgrades.
  • Support to run a data checking and analysing process.
  • Develop and maintaining pricing models, with guidance.
  • Liaise with and present to key internal stakeholders on key pricing analytics and insights.
  • Ensure pricing and analysis adheres to level of delegated authority per TAL Product Pricing Policy and guidelines.
  • Support internal stakeholders in preparing pricing advice and input to tender submissions to our clients.
  • Develop and maintain standard Excel, R and SQL software tools for handling and checking pricing and benchmarking data and ensuring data integrity

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in actuarial science, mathematics or business-related field
  • Solid foundation in technical knowledge of SQL, R and Excel with strong R/programming skills preferred
  • Good analytical, problem-solving skills and documentation skills
  • Strong research, modelling and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects/clients and meet tight deadlines
  • Group Risk Pricing experience or valuation experience, desired
