Job Description

Job Purpose / Objective

The Assistant Manager – Learning & Development plays a critical execution-focused role in enabling capability-building across functions and manufacturing units. The incumbent will support learning need analysis, design and delivery of learning interventions, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external knowledge partners. This role requires instructional design fundamentals, project management skills, and the ability to contextualize learning for diverse audiences including mid-level managers, technical teams, and plant employees.

Key Activities

  • Learning Need Identification & Planning
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and HRBusiness partners to identify behavioral, functional and leadership learning needs.
  • Assist in the development of annual learning calendars for respective business units.
  • Collect and analyze feedback, skill gap data, and performance insights to shape learning priorities.
  • Support competency framework rollouts and skill mapping exercises for targeted teams.
  • Learning Design & Development
  • Develop instructional materials, facilitator guides, and learner resources based on defined learning outcomes.
  • Customize and localize content for different learner segments (e.g., plant-level, corporate functions, frontline managers).
  • Apply adult learning principles and blended learning design to build engaging experiences.
  • Support in developing e-learning content or working with vendors for digital modules.
  • Learning Delivery & Facilitation Support
  • Co-facilitate internal workshops (as required) or coordinate external sessions in collaboration with learning partners.
  • Manage logistics for classroom, virtual, or on-the-job training delivery (scheduling, venue, invites, attendance, materials).
  • Support assessments, evaluations, and feedback analysis for continuous improvement of sessions.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
  • Liaise with internal teams (BUs, HR, Plants, etc.) to ensure alignment on training rollout plans.
  • Manage communication with external knowledge partners, consultants, and platform vendors.
  • Track vendor deliverables, budgets, and feedback on program delivery.
  • Reporting, Analysis & ROI Tracking
  • Maintain training MIS and dashboards on participation, feedback, and completion status.
  • Generate regular reports for business review and audits.
  • Contribute to impact analysis and ROI reporting using pre/post assessments and business metrics.

Key Result Areas / Indicators

  • Learning Program Execution & Completion
  • Timely execution of planned learning sessions as per calendar across functions and plants.
  • Achieve 95%+ program completion rate and 90%+ participant attendance for scheduled sessions.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction & Feedback
  • Minimum 1,5 average learner satisfaction score on post-program feedback.
  • Ensure timely communication, collaboration, and closure of stakeholder-initiated learning requests.
  • Instructional Design & Content Development
  • Develop or localize a minimum of 8–10 learning modules annually.
  • Ensure 100% alignment of content with defined learning objectives and competency framework.
  • Learning Data Reporting & ROI Contribution
  • Maintain 100% accuracy in monthly training dashboards and MIS.
  • Support in impact reporting with baseline/post-assessment data for at least 3 key programs per quarter.

Qualifications

Postgraduate/Graduate in HR, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.

1 to 3 years in L&D roles with exposure to learning design, content development and delivery coordination.

Experience pref: exposure to manufacturing and L&D environment
