Development Project Engineer (Technical) -Utility Scale Solar & BESS

POSITION PURPOSE:The Project Engineer-EPC & Development will assist the Construction Manager and Senior Development Staff with day-to-day tasks in Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), which may include but is not limited to: tracking and monitoring progress; managing submittals, RFIs, schedules, contractors, vendors, permit coordination, construction & contract documentation, etc.  

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan required to complete the project.
• Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
• Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors and contractors.
• Supervises progress of development project and prepares weekly and monthly status reports for senior staff and off-takers.
• Compares and tracks the actual cost of development project to budget.
• Assist in management and oversight of consultants and contractors.
• Assist in management of QA/QC process, commissioning, inspections, signoffs, punchlists, and closeout documents. 
• Assist in management of energy regulatory approvals (CUP, CAISO, FERC, NERC, CEC, EIA, etc.)
• Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements: (Including Certification, Licenses, Etc.)

• Bachelors degree in related engineering discipline or construction management required.
• Prior experience in utility scale solar with an EPC or IPP.
• 3-5 years prior experience in utility scale solar EPC.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using Project Management software including but not limited to BlueBeam, Microsoft Project, etc.
• Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing PVSYST reports.
• Understanding of utility scale solar construction practices (racking systems, inverters, substations, gen-tie, electrical design concepts, etc.)

Actual base salary considers several factors, including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.
