About The Team

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. About The Role

We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our Enterprise Technology Services team as Manager – Technology Planning & Engagement. In this role, you’ll drive technology planning cycles, portfolio oversight, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment between short-term delivery needs and long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead planning cycles: Drive annual and quarterly technology planning for Enterprise Technology Services.
  • Portfolio oversight: Monitor and track initiatives, provide regular reporting on performance, risks, and dependencies, and support governance forums with actionable insights.
  • Risk management: Identify and escalate delivery risks and issues that could impact portfolio outcomes.
  • Process improvement: Design, implement, and continuously improve planning, engagement, and portfolio management processes.
  • Frameworks & tools: Embed consistent prioritisation and benefits tracking frameworks, champion best practice methodologies, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strategic alignment: Ensure initiatives link to business and portfolio strategies, support benefits measurement, and collaborate with finance on business case and modelling controls.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with business leaders, act as the primary point of contact for engagement, and facilitate workshops to align priorities.
  • Roadmap development: Maintain the Enterprise Technology Services portfolio delivery roadmap and provide recommendations on investment trade-offs and sequencing.

About You And Your Skills:

  • Proven experience in technology portfolio management, planning, or PMO leadership roles.
  • Success in managing senior-level stakeholder relationships and business engagement.
  • Experience in large, complex organisations (retail or FMCG preferred).
  • Strong background in demand management, prioritisation, and strategic planning.
  • Track record of improving portfolio management processes and governance frameworks.
  • Exposure to delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid, waterfall).
  • Skilled in facilitating workshops and senior-level planning sessions.
  • Certifications in portfolio and planning (MoP, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills for portfolio performance and value realisation.
