The Global Crisis & Reputation Risk practice is one of the most respected and largest in the world, serving clients on complex crises and with practitioners in more than 60 countries. The Crisis & Reputation Risk team advises leading corporations, governments and institutions and their senior leaders on a broad range of crises including corporate malfeasance, societal matters, litigation, ethics and integrity, security risks (e.g., physical and data), product and service risks (e.g., safety, health) and financial.
About the Opportunity: Our U.S. Crisis & Risk team has a unique opportunity for a seasoned crisis management leader to join our New York office as Executive Vice President. In this role, you will drive mission-critical client engagements, expand our business regionally and nationally, and serve as a trusted counselor to senior executives navigating high-stakes situations.

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. Responsibilities:
- Drive business growth by leading and expanding crisis response and risk mitigation engagements, strengthening client relationships, and capturing new opportunities.
- Manage business to maximize profit through disciplined business management, ensuring strong financial performance and sustainable growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and boards, providing strategic counsel on sensitive issues, navigating complex challenges, and protecting organizational reputation.
- Shape high-impact strategies that align directly with client objectives, ensuring programs deliver measurable value and long-term results.
- Set and uphold excellence, applying the highest quality standards and best practices across all client work.
- Inspire and develop teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth while modeling exemplary leadership.
- Champion vision and direction, communicating a compelling outlook for the future and cultivating a team environment that encourages innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and ethical decision-making.
- Advance operational excellence by identifying process improvements, streamlining workflows, and supporting organizational change initiatives.
- Innovate client solutions by developing new offerings, leveraging intellectual property, and enhancing service capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, with several years in corporate reputational challenges, crisis management, and risk mitigation
- Demonstrated track record in managing high-profile crises and complex, high-risk assignments
- Record of building new clients and have deep connections in NY business community
- Strong people management skills with ability to attract, motivate, empower, coach and retain staff and work within a team environment
- Ability to travel and be on site with clients as needed
- Able to be in the New York City office 3 days a week
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public affairs/political risk experience
- Proven success collaborating across teams and geographies
- Experience working with news media, notably business media and/or investigative journalists
- Strong understanding of the traditional media landscape, as well as social and digital platforms and their influence on reputation
- Familiarity with legal teams, both in-house and outside counsel
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including an aptitude in triaging and prioritizing incoming assignments, managing competing deadlines, and a willingness to work demanding hours as needed
- Are a leader who keeps up with growth and innovation in the industry
- Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful strategies and programs
- Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable serving as a public voice for Edelman and the U.S. Crisis team through panels, industry forums, and thought leadership
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations
- Experience managing P&L responsibility in an agency environment, with a focus on financial discipline and business growth
- Executive presence, poise, and the ability to build credibility and influence at the most senior levels, including boards of directors and the C-suite
